Why Fairtrade?

Fairtrade at St Andrew’s was set up with the aim of helping to provide producers across the world with a better standard of living, through selling goods sourced only from organisations that pay producers a fair amount for their goods and services.
As huge multinational companies seek to source raw materials at ever lower costs, it is more important now than ever to ensure that producers are able to sell their crops and goods in a way that gives them a good standard of living. Buying Fairtrade goods ensures that small scale farmers and craftspeople around the globe can afford to educate their children, access medical care, good food and clean water – all the things we take for granted.
